The lockbox keybin won’t open and or close. What should I do to fix this?
Keybin will not open:
- Force close your SentriKey App by swiping it off your screen.
- Go to the Setting section of your phone.
- Turn off the Wi-Fi setting.
- Make sure your Bluetooth setting is turned on.
- Re-open the SentriLock App and attempt to open the key bin.
- Note: If keybin fails to open, try once more and pull on the tab located at the bottom of the lockbox. Sometimes the key compartment doesn't fall automatically but using the tab will release it.
- If that does not work try to release the shackle (you must have ownership privileges to the lockbox to do this). If releases, now try to open the keybin.
-
Check for Key Jam:
- Ensure there is no key jammed above the key bin.
-
Shackle Insertion:
- Make sure the shackle is completely inserted. If it is not, try to push it down firmly.
-
Motor Stall:
- If the lockbox motor stalls, you may need to release the shackle and try again.
Compression: Compress the key door and attempt to open it again. If you are a non-owner, the lockbox owner will be needed for further troubleshooting.
- If the lockbox motor stalls, you may need to release the shackle and try again.
Escalate: If the issue persists, escalate to SentriLock Support. 513.618.5800
Key Bin Will Not Close
-
Motor Function:
- Test turning the motor by going through the functions of opening the key compartment again while the door is hanging open. After the motor turns, close the key compartment and see if it latches.
-
Shackle Release:
- If you have owner privileges, test releasing the shackle. If it releases, proceed to close the key bin.
- Compression: If the shackle does not release, attempt shackle release again using compression during the first set of motor noise.
Escalate: If the key bin still does not close, escalate to SentriLock Support. 513.618.5800
